South Florida mall injures 2
SOUTHWEST MIAMI-DADE, Fla. (WSVN) -- Miami-Dade Police are investigating a shooting at a South Florida mall that wounded one man and injured another during an alleged armored truck robbery.
Police responded to Dadeland mall around 11 Monday morning after reports of shots fired inside the mall. According to witnesses, two men approached an armored truck guard inside the Limited with a silver handgun. Witnesses said a struggle ensued and shots were fired.
A man was shot in the stomach area and the victim is believed to be the armored truck guard. Paramedics airlifted him to Jackson Memorial Hospital in unknown condition. The other victim injured during the shooting was treated on the scene.
Witnesses said the two men allegedly fled the scene through the mall. One of the men was wearing all black and the other man was wearing a gray sweatshirt and blue jeans. Also seen fleeing the scene at a high rate of speed was a 2000 white 4-door Lincoln.
Officials said Dadeland mall is still opened except for the crime scene which is near the Limited and Express Stores.
